He put up a strong fight right to the finish: At the 11th race of the Moto3 World Championship in Silverstone, Great Britain, Germany’s moto3 rider Toni Finsterbusch earned a 21st-place finish. The German is now very motivated going into the upcoming races.
“I really botched my start and the first round as I didn’t feel good,” explained the 20-year-old from Saxony after the race. “Then I got into gear but unfortunately, at that time, it already was a losing battle. In the very last round I pushed hard again and gave it a 120 percent. It was a tough fight right to the finish,” said Finsterbusch who, at times, even joined the battle for 18thplace.
Current World Championship leader Luis Salom (233 points) took his sixth consecutive top podium finish in Silverstone. He won the race ahead of compatriots Alex Rins and Alex Marquez (all KTM).
Toni Finsterbusch is now fully concentrating on the next World Championship race, the Grand Prix di San Marino in Misano, Italy, on September 15.
