Germany’s Moto3 rider Toni Finsterbusch showed an impressive performance at the fifth World Championship race in Mugello, Italy: with a 34th place on the grid, the 19-year-old from Saxony successfully caught up on the racetrack to eventually take a 21st-place finish. He failed to finish in the points by only two seconds. “After the bad qualifying result I wanted to do better in the race. I knew that I had the necessary speed and I just pushed. I’m quite happy with the course of the race,” said Finsterbusch.
Spain’s Luis Salom took the victory ahead of compatriots Alex Rins and Maverick Vinales (all KTM). With regard to the next race in Barcelona (June 16, 2013), Finsterbusch has set his sights on a place in the points. “I’ll celebrate my birthday on June 14. This is why I want to give myself a nice birthday present two days later. I’ll do everything to achieve this,” explained the Kiefer Racing pilot.
